University education in Canada is 4 years for most programmes. However, the length of study of education in programs in law. , health and some technical fields can be 5 or 6 years. While you are studying, you can work at the same time, provided that it does not exceed 20 hours

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY
Both colleges and universities can only be attended after earning a high school diploma. A college is a single institution that offers one of the following qualifications: a certificate, diploma, undergraduate degree or post-graduate diploma. On the other hand, a university usually consists of many separate schools that offer undergraduate and graduate degrees. It is mainly preferred by those who want to pursue an academic career or research.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CERTIFICATE AND A DIPLOMA OR AN ADVANCE DIPLOMA
A certificate program from a college or vocational institution usually requires 1 year of full-time study. But then, a diploma usually takes 2 years of full-time study at the same school, hence an advanced diploma generally takes 3 years. These study programs aim to prepare students for direct entry into an occupation right after the college.
WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY APPLICATION
Minimum high school grade point average of 70 is required for college applications, and 80 for universities.
Academic Prerequisite is to submit a high school or university diploma and an official transcript from the school.
English Proficiency must be proven with the TOEFL or IELTS exam.
Each school requests a CV, letter of intent, reference and a detailed portfolio for some programs. You need to get the reference letter from two of your teachers / professors from the high school/university you have graduated.
Whether it is high school, university or college, education in Canada is not free for international students. University tuition fees are slightly higher than college fees.
